Mass market edition Tarot of Dreams
News , Tarot / 20 December 2015

The Tarot of Dreams by Ciro Marchetti is now available by U.S. Games. The designer self-published his deck in 2005, shortly after one of the highest selling decks ever; The Gilded Tarot. So of course that meant high quality work with a limited print, although unfortunately also for some a price they could not afford. Self-publishing is pricey, and Marchetti always chooses good card stock and excellent additional materials. That has now changed. U.S. Games was able to pick up the rights and print the mass market edition. That means the waiting has ended.  In the deck & booklet the book is still by Lee Bursten, known for his Gay Tarot. U.S. Games has stayed true to Ciro Marchetti’s artwork, but there is just a slight change. The borders have been adapted. The original ones had a frame with squares in which you could see the elemental dignities and astrological correspondences. In the mass market edition Tarot of Dreams, there is no frame, but a black bleeding border that does not really ‘feel’ like a border. In that blackness you will now see the titles and correspondences. Judging from just pictures I have to say I really like this new style…

Tarot Dude | Daily Tarot Readings
Multimedia , Review , Tarot / 18 December 2015

I am not a fan of daily tarot readings for all; they’re too general. However, in the way Tarot Dude is handling them you can enjoy a multitude of decks and a very nice interpretation per card, combination and reading. Useful if you are a beginner, still learning the tarot cards, or if you’d like to add to your personal tarocabuly. I’d advise to browse way back (he has a temporary stop at the moment) and just enjoy his way of reading. The only thing that takes some getting used to is his nasal way of talking. Time Between Times Tarot in spring 2017
News , Tarot / 14 December 2015

Lo Scarabeo has picked up a new deck by Chris Butler, the designer of the Quantum tarot 2.0, Son Tarot (for Gay men) and Lenormand Cartomancy (2013). The Time Between Times Tarot will be published in the Spring of 2017 and is centered around the concept of the Healing Mandorla and Divine Feminine Wisdom. Overlap in material and spiritual world A Mandorla is an almond shaped space created by two overlapping circles. The shape is seen in Western Sacred Art (f.e in relation to the Virgin Mary) and has found its way on traditional tarot images as well (World Card). Where the material world and spiritual world overlap, there’s the healing space, You’ll find one on each major or minor card, bearing a specific symbolic message. According to Butler, the Mandorla is also a powerful symbol of the Divine Feminine, which means that the cards energy is meant to be gentle and nurturing. Time between times The healing sphere is an important theme, but the deck also celebrates the Celtic ‘Time between Times’, hence the name. This was the Celts’ term for Dusk and Dawn. The time when it is neither night or day and the veil between the physical and…

Afro Caribbean art in Vudu Tarot
News , Tarot / 1 December 2015

Sometimes readers complain there aren’t any non-caucasian decks out there. While that isn’t completely true (think of all the cat decks!) and Tarot Garden could supply anyone with quite a list of decks that include people of color it is a fact there aren’t a lot of mainstream decks that are racially diverse. However 2015 is seeing the birth of two of those decks. First there…
