Sneak peek: The Tarot Restless (campaign)
Decks , News , Sneak peek , Tarot , Waite-Smith / 19 December 2017

Whether you’re into dark fantasy decks or not, appreciate complete reinterpretations of Major Arcana cards or not…I just had to mention THIS tarot deck by Winslow Dumaine because of its theme and goal.

Dumaine has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a deck that I have not seen before. Sure, it is not the first ‘dark’ deck, nor is it the first

The Great Lines Tarot Sneak peek & Interview
Decks , Interview , News , Sneak peek , Tarot de Marseille / 4 December 2017

We all know palmistry, and we know tarot. But reading depictions of line-drawn hands on our tarot decks…that’s…unheard of!. Until now, because that’s exactly the ‘in a nutshell’ description of Jehanne Fortin’s The Great Lines Tarot. Now on Kickstarter until the 20th of December, so you can still back if it you like original. A little sneak & interview with

The Card Geek’s Kipper Guide and Kipper deck: Pre-order+preview
Decks , Kipper , News / 9 October 2017

If you follow me on Eureka Readings (less active than this one, but linked to my practice) or are a friend you know I fell in love with Kipper about 2 years ago and have been certified in the traditional way of reading this 36-card system. But….good decks are seriously lacking. Especially ones that take into account which techniques are used in the Bavarian way of reading (where it originated). Not anymore! Toni Puhle just released her Kipper guide WITH accompanying deck to the world…for pre-order that is. The Card Geek’s Kipper deck and The Card Geek’s Guide to Kipper, both to be released on December 1st (so soon!). I was so excited, I used whatever info I could get from the newsletter, so forgive me for less quality pics and such. Later I will be able to add the good stuff…  Here you can see the first high quality pictures of cover and a few important cards from the deck. The Kipper goodies The book is a 200 page counting Kipper How To Guide. It starts with card meanings and moves on to how to get the most out of a Kipper read. Beginners and advanced readers can use…

The TdM in 2017 | Modern Marseille & more
Sneak peek , Tarot , Tarot de Marseille , Theme: TdM / 30 September 2016

What to expect in the land of Tarot de Marseille Modern Marseille decks and reproductions for 2016/2017 + one big reveal at the bottom!   Tarot Decoratif (2016/2017) Some time ago I mentioned Ciro Marchetti’s newest tarot project on my Facebook page. Back then the name wasn’t certain yet, only that this deck project started after a lecture from Russel Sturgess on TarotCon about the Tarot de Marseille. After some discussions in TdM-groups the deck soon became known as ‘inspired by’ or a ‘hommage to’ Tdm. The name: Tarot Decoratif. The deck is printed and can be ordered from his website. While not even the designer himself calls it a TdM, the symbolism and pattern (though not the *style*) is definitely there in the Majors – as well as the research into the traditional deck. In my book that makes this one a modern take on the Tarot de Marseille. Tarot Decoratif is absolutely recognisable as a ‘Ciro’ and it’ll probably attract many ‘hesitators’ who are interested in TdM but don’t like the style of the original woodcut decks. The only ‘negative’ I can (so far) see with it is the fact the pips have Waite-Smith elements. I would have…

Sneak Peek: ‘psychological’ Nightscape Tarot
Interview , News , Sneak peek , Tarot / 31 May 2016

While researching on new(s) items for The Queen’s Sword I see a lot of decks, but I can never fully suppress that tinge of excitement when I discover work that I like and think others will too. The Nightscape Tarot is such a work. It is still in its early stages and made by a couple: designer Molly Greenlee and tarot reader and soon PhD Jungian Depth Psychology Dylan Hoffman. An interview with Greenlee about everything Nightscape and of course a sneak peek of the images.
