Place’s new book: companion on Sevenfold, TdM and Hermeticism

I own many of Robert Place’s decks (granted, I am not equally enthusiastic about all of them). Strangely enough that has not translated itself into even one review, but I am sure I’ll rectify that at one point.
Besides his decks I’ve come to enjoy many of his writings and books. Combine those two and you have the reason for this little news-item. Because….Finally, it is here! Well, almost then. Place’s newest book is coming soon and it is one many of us Place-deck-collectors have been waiting for. Not only is he an artist with a very recognizable simple but elegant art-style, but he is also an extremely knowledgable art-historian and tarot historian. His book Tarot and History is a classic (on the pile of my standard tarot reference books) and the companion for the Alchemical Tarot (AT), Alchemy and the Tarot, is unequivocally one of the best deck companions ever written. But…if you are very much into his AT (ed4 or not), chances are you have the Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery too. And as gorgeous as it is… most of us have been wanting for a book that explained all those ancient history, mythology and other esoteric and…

Arkartia: New steps for tarot online

Arkartia: Kickstarter Tarot Association So Arkartia. What’s that now?
I had promised to tell you a few of my thoughts – if that might help you in your ‘to pledge or not to pledge‘. Augmented reality apps, online communities, digital worlds and characters…they aren’t new in the pc-world, but they are in tarot. That is where the visionary part comes in with the newest project by the Tarot Association (TA): Arkartia. While many tarot readers are still taking their first steps into the whole online learning and sharing thing on (f.e.) Facebook, creators Marcus Katz and Tali Goodwin are obviously ready for the next step. Sunday evening, April 30th they launched Arkartia, a combination of an online community, interactive map and accompanied by an app. Full disclosure: I already backed the project because if nothing else: I’d like to be part of new things in tarot (which is why I aptly chose to pledge as Pioneer). I personally think, but have to base that on what I have seen so far, that the project makes the Tarot Association a pioneer in its own right. Setting up a community where people can share within certain locations, integrate blogs, online readings, courses and…

Sneak Peek: Ana Tourian Tarot decks plug
Decks , News , Sneak peek , Tarot / 24 April 2017

Because technique and I are still not seeing eye to eye (after a website hack, a website crash and now 5 corrupted files of soon to be published reviews) I went searching for something to calm my bleeding tarot heart… And found Ana Tourian.
I was already taken with her recently released (and reviewed by yours truly) Oracle of Echoes, but after a conversation in a Facebook Tarot Group I discovered more work. Two gorgeous tarot decks, in the

New: Rosetta Tarot Papyrus edition | Thoth
News , Tarot , Thoth / 10 February 2017

I don’t believe it is a huge secret I am a fan of MM Meleen’s work. And even if you are not or don’t like Golden Dawn inspired decks, you most likely can agree with me she has an enormous amount of creativity and a vast knowledge of everything esoteric and tarot. So, when I heard there was going to be a new Rosetta Tarot edition I was very happy. Meleen is going to publish a new *full sized* version of the Rosetta Tarot. This is the first deck she ever made, before the Tabula Mundi sequence. But only the pocket version in a tin was still available (I have the 1st edition: great! Only the quality of the paper leaves something to be desired for) and readers had been asking for a reprint of the full size for years, including the OOP Book of Seshet.     Rosetta Tarot Papyrus edition So, hearing about a new release is a “yay!” to begin with, but this new Rosetta Tarot will really be new. She came up with a marvelous adjustment, typical for her style: Hand inked hieroglyphic titles on papyrus! So, no regular tarot titles like The Moon, but a…
