Sneak peek: Dreams of Gaia Tarot
News , Sneak peek , Tarot / 12 April 2016

Blue Angel Publishing announced some of its upcoming releases. One beauty, based on the pictures, is Dreams of Gaia Tarot. This deck, with artwork by Ravynne Phelan (aka Michele-lee Phelan), is almost ten years in the making and especially interesting for those who like healing and huge tarot cards. The 81 cards come with black borders, gold-gilded edges and a 308-page guidebook. The philosophy of the Dreams of Gaia Tarot is to seek, to feel, to grow and to heal. The idea behind the tarot deck is that you’ll strengthen the connection to your divine self all the while helping you to heal past experiences that hold you back in the present. By using Dreams of Gaia you will be able to live to your fullest potential. Different archetypes The Dreams of Gaia Tarot has both a major and minor arcana, but in a way tarot readers can’t envision until they have the deck in their hands. It is divided into life phases, influences and reasons for being. So don’t expect The Chariot, The Tower or Hanged Man for example. This del comes with new archetypes, symbology and meanings that the artist thinks is more suited to the present. That statement…

Everyday Tarot: a choice centered book | Review
Books , Mindfulness , Review , Tarot / 3 February 2016

I decided to give you a golden oldie. Sure, a review site usually shows the newest releases (patience my darlings, the 2016 beauties are not yet published), but I do not want to forget about tools and books that are still useful years after their first release. So today: Everyday tarot: a choice centered book.

Making an exception for my Multimedia menu because I just could not get over this awesome special called Tarot by The Mouthful by The Tarot Lady and her partner in crime, tv-cook, Kyle Cherek. It’s a ‘had to share’ and since it was originally supposed to be a multimedia thing I am going to pretend it fits here perfectly. Tarot by The Mouthful gives you very nice recipes based on the 78 cards in the Waite-Smith deck. Tarot and food? Yes, tarot and food. Tarot recipes! Perhaps one day they will humor me and add video, instead of text & pictures, where they show us how to make that The Fool-souffle or The Temperance…

Sola-Busca Tarot by Mayer: a piece of history
Decks , Review , Tarot / 15 January 2016

It rarely happens I treat a deck with reverence. Sure, my tarot and oracle collection is worth a lot to me and I take good care of any deck. But with the Sola-Busca I had the urge to use those white cotton gloves curators of certain museums use before touching a rare, ancient, valuable object. I guess that was the first ‘warning’ this deck is not your average tarot package, but something pretty special. If you’re not an avid reader, you

Afro Caribbean art in Vudu Tarot
News , Tarot / 1 December 2015

Sometimes readers complain there aren’t any non-caucasian decks out there. While that isn’t completely true (think of all the cat decks!) and Tarot Garden could supply anyone with quite a list of decks that include people of color it is a fact there aren’t a lot of mainstream decks that are racially diverse. However 2015 is seeing the birth of two of those decks. First there…
